Any one taken up the offer with carphone warehouse for Aol broadband and had a free ps3 or laptop ??? any catches ?

1) its an 18month contract

2) Its AOL there customer support is shocking, they fobbed me off with a technical issue 2 weeks into my contract, and then spent the next 9 months denying the problem. When they finally admitted it, they then wanted me to pay the duration of the contract if i wanted to walk.

This looks 'almost' tempting. I pay £28 a month for Nildram just now, but for £34.99 a month I could get the top AOL package and get a free PS3. £168 difference (£7 per month for 24 months) - which is still a half price PS3.

As you say though - it does mean having AOL.

 

is it the gimped 40GB model PS3 you get ?

if so it might not be all that a great deal since AOhell have a really bad rep ATM

 

Looked today for £19.99 i can have a ps3 and the only catch is 24 month contract and you have to sign to aol talk,if you cancel aol talk during the period they reserve the right to increase your monthly payment by £10.Its only £2 more a month than I pay now , and tiscali ain't been great,they have been overcharging since a couple of months and seem very reluctant to give out a mac code.

 

tiscali wont give out mac codes, they just cancel your contract and then do **** all

heard this advertise on the radio today..... 24 month contract.

1) Who would want to use AOL?
2) Who would want a PS3

Emailed tiscali about mac codes and I was told to phone them,phoned and explained I needed the mac code and within an hour it had been emailed to me .BUT to get it for £19.99 a month you have to be in a Aol talk enabled area..which as I have just found out I am not,it is therefore £29.99 ..not so cheap now.
