Default Divx to dvd problems.

Help !! seem to be having a few problems within the burning process off any d/loaded fims etc, use divx to DVD software to convert the d/load into a dvd formatt and use its own burning software to actually put the media onto dvd. what I find thou is that often the playback off the film on any dvd player is very patchy by that I mean the picture / audio will often become hesitant / jumpy.

I know that the original d/load file quality is perfect as when I play it on the pc using say windows media player or whatver its fine all the way thru.

anyone any idea where I could be going wrong within the burning / converting process ??

Try this, it should cure your problem, all my burns to dvd have been perfect and the software does everything for you. You can get it in the usual places if you know what i mean.

It sure does, all you do is to put your file into the software that you want converting and it basically does the rest.

burn the DVD as slow as possible. Some players wont read a DVD that has been burnt on top speed but will play fine once burnt slower. I'd personally buy a DVD player that handles divx. nice Phillips one on Amazon for £50 and has usb slot for an external HD or usb pen. no more dvd's

If you are going to buy a new player you would want to make sure it can also handle Xvid. That is a quite a popular format.

I do love the sound of an external USB port to plug in my HDD. That would be so cool for playing stuff back

2. The USB / DivX support. This is where the player shines. Although the manual says that it only plays music & wma from USB, that's not the case. I've played DivX and Xvid formats from a USB stick with no problem, in fact with a very good picture. You just pop them on a stick, slot it in the player which sees it immediately and then select the file you want to play - easy and no CDs/DVDs to burn. It also plays WMA but I have not tried that out yet.
