- check for viruses (viri) eg. use Kaspersky anti-virus
- check for malware eg. use adaware (free) or prevx
- clean all the Crap from your computer CCLEANER from filehippo.com - Download Free Software
- check what your computer is loading when starting windows - RUN > MSCONFIG

hmmm, mine is on malware.

You can always download your hard drive manufacturer's diagnostic utilities and interrogate the drive's SMART status.

depends on the "froze" meaning.

If you mean it got that bogged down it felt like it had froze then I would say software...

If it just froze and it really froze.. I'd go with harddrive or maybe over heating

How many applications run on startup?
The quickest way to fix a pc is backup, format and restore!

ITunes might just be installed on a good bit of disk. . . .

Just incase:

Do a proper disk check.

Read your system event log.
