Default Cleaned my Keyboard

Normally I would replace a dirty keyboard.. but I bought the MX5000 so I'm not about the throw it away !

I decided to very carefully take each key off and clean the whole thing... OMG the amount of **** under there was horrible!!!

Hairs ?? I'm a skin head .. crumbs... and a whole host of other crap !!

I dare you to remove one key and take a look under it now !!

To stop that build up just give your keyboard a good blow out with a can of compressed air, they usually come with a long straw type nozzle to get under the keys. Thats what i do anyway, before that i use to find things like pot noodles and old **** mags under my keyboard

I've got a nice board, MX1000, not about to pop a key off in case it does not go back Not sure compressed air is the cure for mine, its starting to get a little "squiddy" when I press keys if you know what I mean. Too much sticky pop in the microswitch areas me thinks

You sure is a 1000 ?

I thought that was a mouse.. as I said mine the 5000 and popped off and back with no problem !

£85 for a keyboard and mouse is a bit much though !

Its the MX1000 set, so yes the mouse is the 1000, not sure on the keyboard. It is different to the one you have, my mum has the one you use. I may try popping the keys off if I am brave, but as you say £80+ for keyboard and mouse is a lot.

My mouse is starting to die as well It uses a special "non replaceable" rechargeable battery. Just like mobiles, once they reach a certain age they no longer hold their charge for long. Its just a matter of time before I am going to have to crack my mouse open to change this battery. I've been putting that off, as previous attempts to pry the mouse apart were unsuccessful.

I foresee shares in superglue are about to rise

that pic looks like my mouse. My keyboard is close to that, but without the display. Also, my docking station is different, and I don't have that funky looking USB attachment (whatever that is).

Mine is about 3 years old now I would say.
