Well i am fairly new to playing the 360 online but my friend is elite ranking so he must have some idea. Basically we tried to connect to play agaisnt each other and it would not allow it. We also failed to have a private chat, any ideas???

You can only invite to player matches not ranked matches...

If voice chat also failed then it doesnt sound like the was the player / ranked match that was causing it.

can you connect up in other games? reason I ask is that I had a similar problem in the past in that I wasnt able to connect to certain people - problem turned out that my router was blocking off a certain range of IP adresses - had to reinstall the router to fix it.

You can hook in ranked, easiest way is to set up an obscure game type - works best if someone sets up a Japanese language only room and the other player searches for that, being in voice chat helps while you do this.

as for the smoke grenede?? what good is that, i may as well have a bullseye strapped to my head (hang on i must have, i keep dying) seriously i though the smoke was supposed to provide cover? its more lije a frkn red rag

Dont bother with smoke its crap, i am not that far in 1 player but online i am starting to learn.

smoke is useful in certain circumstances, the terrorists are pretty dumb in the T hunt and can't see much through it. In terms of the campaign, probably not as much use.

I carry smoke when playing on-line. There is no point in games against other humans (team sharpshooter, etc - where other players have thermal vision) but it's great in terrorist hunts. You can literally take out 6-7 in an area under the cover of smoke, but remember to shoot and move a bit, or the others will fire into the smoke. I always use a silencer too which helps.

I am at Colonel with all bars lit so should get Elite this weekend !

I am at Specalist at the moment with 3 bars lit, i just got a new gun which seems to help. Anybody know what the gamer points are all about. I played my mate today who is same rank but we had to play player match as he has a lot more gamer points?
