Valve unleashed Portal on the world today (along with HL Ep2 and TF2). I've had a quick play through 12 of the levels and it's not too bad. The disjointed voice of the tester does come out with a fair few amusing comments (about the correct time to complain and when cake will be available).

The puzzles so far aren't too taxing but I can see that some really twisted and evil ones will no doubt pop up fairly soon.

Just done the first 6/19 in 10mins or so, not an overly big game by all accounts but then it is a bonus game in the package.

HL2 EP2 is looking good so far, only played 30mins, seems to be the usual, if not more thinking as well as shooting, this is where Halo failed/lacked.

PC version has the same achievements as the 360 version, pity i can't transfer them to my gamertag

why are they releasing this package when theres 3 episodes?

I thought games for windows uses the same gamertag so achievements do go on as one

Games for windows is just for vista (the playing against 360 counterparts is anyways) , this is a general pc release.

How do you mean 3 episodes?

The orange box contains HL2, EP1 and Ep2. That is 3 episodes to half-life 2 series.

Just had another quick play and finished off Portal. The humor is rather good, plus I did get cake, which is nice The end credits song is rather catchy too.

It's said that HL Ep2 may touch on who/what Aperture are/is and Ep3 will explain who Chell (the character you play in Portal) is.

Aperture seems to be a competitor to the black mesa company. They built their portals on a big ship and it did a bit of a "Philadelphia experiment" job reading between the lines.

If anyone else likes the end song "Still Alive" and would like an MP3 of it, follow these instructions:

1.download the gcfscape program, and install (You will need .NET 2 or later, there is a link to a download for it on the gcfscape download page)

2. open the "portal content.gcf" file in "Program Files\Steam\steamapps" location

3. the mp3 is /portal/sound/music/portal_still_alive.m p3

4. Select the file, right click and select "Extract" and select a location to save it to.
