Default Problem connection to internet with vista / IE7 possible solution

This may help someone out if they are having internet connection issues with Vista and IE7 on xp

I upgraded a laptop yesterday to Vista. I did it as a brand new install, formatted the drive etc etc.

Once installed I set up my wireless connection and I obtained automatically a ip address that was allocated however I couldnt connect to the internet.
Also I couldnt connect to the router browser interface either.

Turns out that IE7 is built on new technology and your router may need a firmware upgrade.

I use a speedtouch 585v6 and it was using firmware 6.1.4.3 this wasnt compatible with IE7.

One firmware update and its working champion again

I dont know if it is just this router that suffers but I imagine there could well be others
