Just got a new Sweex modem/router and it's working well. When I shut down the computer the power light on the modem box stays on along with the ADSL and PPP lights as well as the first port light.

Seems odd that there are 4 lights on and the computer isn't running.

Is this normal?

yes its normal as the router has its own power supply? Thats why people recommend using routers when on things like adsl max as it is always on and sending a signal to the exchange whereas the usb type only receive and send a signal when the computer is on
