Question Problem turning Dell Dimension PC on

My Dad turned his PC on yesterday and got as far as logging in. He then left the pc and when he came back it had gone in sleep mode. The problem now is that it won't come out of sleep mode. Holding the switch in will turn it off but pressing again to turn on will just go back in to sleep mode. Hes tried the usual unplugging etc but its still in sleep mode.

Has anybody got any ideas how to turn it on? Hes looked on the Dell support website.

To disable it, go to the control panel and change the POWER PROFILE

Out of warranty. Has been picked up now by someone we know.

I'm on a Dell computer now. Never heard a bad word about them.

Dells are fine...as long as you re-format them, and install your own version of Xp or Vista before using them.

That way the system runs faster and is more stable than the factory supplied install (combined with all the pre-installed junk). And you'll have a proper windows install disc and not a poxy restore disc. So you have the option to use the recovery console or repair tool should it go belly-up.

Must admit its like that with most systems supplied from large manufacturers
