I think the controls on Forza 2 are fantastic especially with the triggers for braking and acceleration. No drivers aids on is proper edge of the seat stuff with you having to get the braking on as hard as poss but without locking them up.
GT5 looks amazing as usual but most of the vids are of the replay modes which always were amazing..still waiting to see the incar views in action which look great on the stills. And I hope to god they have decent engine sounds this time...they always say how they record the actual engines for the game but bar a few (scooby, skyline and big yankies)they tend to sound too similar and "digital" compared to Forza (check the vid of the 599 and compare the forza and GT5 sounds..no contest imo)

It's not all about graphics, and the cars in Forza2 handle more like the real thing than the GT series ever have. If you like the handling in GT4 etc then fair enough, (it's a reasonable arcade racer), but the handling is way off. If you'd ever driver a real TVR Tuscan around a track you'd know just how power slidey they can be

I think GT5 will be amazing. Alot more cars than forza, alot more tracks than forza, and better tuning/tweaking capabilities than forza.

Both racers have serious flaws but in completely different departments, but TBH I find the GT series a bit more realistic in the car handling and behavior stakes. Forza feels too artificial for me. I also play LFS and a few other well known superior racers to forza, GT4 and make my comparison/opinion based on that.

I've drifted my 4wd Impreza on track before. What point are you trying to make?
I compare it to driving real cars on track myself. No game I've played (even LFS, GT Legends etc) come close. On the consoles, Forza 2 has come the closest so far, although it still has a long way to go...

I dont think forza comes close to real world driving at all in my opinion.
4wds are capable of drifiting/powersliding in real life though, FWD cars are not, thats my point

Ah I thought you meant four wheel drive
Agreed you shouldn't be able to drift front wheel drive cars as easily as rwd (although you can slide the back around if you know how to handle the brakes etc), but on the other hand I've done that in the GT games as well, so Forza is no better or worse in that respect.

Played a demo of Forza 2 wasn't an isntant fan, but from what i remember from the GT series i did prefer the Forza first outing, i'm sure both have come on leaps and bounds and i wouldn't count the go on Forza 2 as a real go as it was the demo and they always suffer.
But the problem with GT5 is that all the clips i've seen of it are pre-rendered movies, never any in-game footage and until this sees the light of day it'll be impossible to say one is better than the other.
Yes i'm a 360 owner but to the PS3 owners, you should hold back before defending a game that you've not played or seen any good 'game' clips. Once this is so you'll have something to sing about.

I played this last week at Leipzig, and it was amazing. The new in-car view is astonishing, you can even see 'fluff' shaders on the back of the gloves when the lighting catches it right.
I played the R8 which was great, but there were plenty other cars including an F430. Can't wait for this one. Also played pgr4, the bikes are surprisingly fun but need to be made more easy to mess up, it doesn't look like you will be able to physically fall off.

I didn't play for long enough, but:
- visually much much better, really astonishing.
- I much prefer the driving force pro wheel.
- Driving model not as obviously realistic as forza, much 'easier' to drive close to the limits without losing it (that is a pro for some and a con for others)
- more cars on track at once (didn't count them but a fair few!)
It was still glitchy, lots of slowdown etc. but looking really good in all!

Is the in-car view fixed or can you look around like you can in PGR3?
I'm liking the way the drivers hands move on the steering wheel, although they don't seem to move when he changes gear.
