Question

Has anyone managed to backup to CDR this game?
I have an amazing tendancy to bugger the originals I buy so normally put the originals away safe and use the backup I make.

Noticed several of them, inc Tony Hawk2 and Motorcross Madness2 keep failing on the burn process.

I'm using the latest nero software.

Cheers

Wink

Of course, we only back originals we own don't we guys...

Difficult legal position for ScoobyNet, so if we can keep it on the straight and narrow.

Thanks,

Chris.

Cool, I am not one for troublemaking on here either. Get bored reading the threads where people come out with the most blatant attacks on companies etc....

Cheers,

Nick

RTCW doesn't have any copy protection that I know of......
No problems with getting a perfect image, with CloneCD. My settings:

Read speed - 2X (Me being paranoid, seems to ignore anyway, but best for heavily protected discs)
Read subchannel data from data ticked
Read subchannel data from audio ticked
abort on read error off
fast error skip off
intelligent bad sector scanner off

Extracts the image relatively quickly, less than 15 mins in general with an Aopen AKU40PRO cdrom. This particular drives reads all formats from what I remember.
Burns perfectly to my Acer 20x writer
Only found one game so far too heavily protected at the mo to backup with CloneCD (Starforce Copy Protection).
Reading subchannel data cannot be done with all cdroms(i think).
Same applies when using CD writers.

Cheers,

Nick

Edit, edit, edit......DOH!

Hi Nick,

Nothing dodgy IMO either, as AFAIK you are allowed to make backups of CDs you own. I just wanted to avoid any hassle if the thread went further into iffy areas. We like the quiet life on here

Chris.
