Been hearing more and more now that all ranks under a certain rank (First Lieutenant I heard) will be re-set to Private on or around the 16th Aug.
Something to do with new ranks & weapons being introduced.

I have been hearing this more & more - anyone know anything for definate?

No idea. Stopped playing that a while ago now. Shame really as I love the game, but wasn't very good at it online.

Neither am I really, but persisted with it and now Master Sergeant.
2 biggest tips I can give are

1) Choose a gun thats "right" for you - dont get too hung up about having a gun with max damage rating. I keep coming back to the Famas after trying more powerful guns - it just works for my style of play.
On certain levels the shotgun is the best gun too - anything where most of the play is tight and not in the open use a shotgun, very effective when coming round a corner & confronted by an enemy, one shot and dead.

2) Get good at head shots ! - Playing on-line for ages trying to kill more senior players and would often unload a clip into them and they would just turn around and shoot/kill me - very frustrating. But if you can perfect head shots any enemy goes down in 1/2 shots.

If you do well in a game people start to add you to their friends list & invite you into games.

Its all irrelevant anyway - as soon as Halo3 is out everyone will be playing that on-line !!
