Win XP Movie Maker/Analogue video
#1
I am trying to load some footage from an analogue video camera onto Windows Movie Maker on XP.
Do I need some sort of additional external device to be able to do this?
I was hoping that the PC had all I needed installed, and I just need to connect the camera to the PC, but it seems not.
The help menus do not seem clear enough for a PC illiterate like myself.
Any help gratefully received.

Ooh, you've opened a can of worms now, doh!
Welcome to the world of video capture - a huge subject, and you'll do well to read the articles I've left at the bottom.
Digital Camcorders connect to PCs via a firewire socket on the PC
Analogue Camcorders connect to PCs via special 'capture cards' that need to be bought and installed into your computer.
