Mac and Adobe Flash Player problem.
We have a G4 iMac and a MacBook.
The iMac is hard wired to a BT home hub and the laptop uses it wireless.
Both computers have suddenly started to "lose" the installed Adobe Flash Player. Come back to use either after a break or overnight and the Flash Player has gone, uninstalled itself ! Have to redownload to get it again.
It has only started to do this recently, especially on the iMac, which was fine for the past 2 yrs !
Any ideas what might be happening ?
Cheers

How do you know it's uninstalled itself? I assume when you go to a site with flash content it does not display the content?
What OS X version are your machines running? Have you installed the latest Quicktime update recently on both machines?
I'd suggest uninstalling the player, try this uninstaller. Then go back to the adobe page and download the latest flash player and install it and see what happens.

Thanks Markus.
Yes, all we get is a question mark instead of flash player activity.
Yes, all Mac software downloads are up to date and disc utility run on a regular basis.
Both machines are on OSX 10.4.10
I'll try the uninstaller and reload and see what happens over the next few days.

There is some issue with the latest QuickTime update which, if I recall correctly, can mess up the flash player, so you might be experiencing that. What you may also like to try is rebooting the computer, login as a local admin user (or if there is only one user it'll auto login as an admin user), then download the 10.4.10 combo update. Ensure no other applications are running and run the combo updater. Do NOT do anything on the machine once it is installer, this is especially important during the "Optimizing System Performance" phase, as this is where the QT installer has been known to mess things up. Once it's installed reboot, reinstall flash player, see if you still have problems.
