Default FTP problems!!!

I have 50mb of free webspace with my ISP, Pipex. I want to upload / host some of my own photos so I can post them on forums.
I have gone through about 6 free FTP programs and all have given me the same problem. They all successfully connect with Pipex and they all successfully upload my photos because the remote window shows that they are there. My problem is that I cannot see / view my photos online. When I go to the address they should be at they are not there. My Pipex info gives slightly differing addresses with one ending in .net and the other .com. No matter how many permutations of addresses I try I just cannot view my photos in a web browser. I get the classic "page cannot be displayed" error. I have also tried using the ftp address as well to no avail.

I know that the problem is with me and I'm definitely doing something wrong as all the programs have functioned the same with successful connections / uploads. I'm clearly missing something. At the minute I have just one folder holding one photo but I cannot view it as I must be looking in the wrong area although I have tried lots of different combinations ref the addresses.

I know there are loads of photo hosting websites but I would like my own little bit of virtual real estate free from bandwith issues.

Any help appreciated,

Craig.

Forgot to add, I'm currently using Core FTP LE

Make sure you are uploading them into the htdocs folder on the server and when you try to access them, if you haven't put them on a web site make sure your aiming for the full address, i.e

Pimmo2000,

What is the htdocs folder and how do I find it?

Craig,

Your address is very similar to mine, minus the name obviously, which is why I can't understand why it won't work! The JPG is definitely in caps.

You'll find that Linux webservers require case-sensitive URL's
