Small business, outsourcing exchange server.
Does anyone have experience of this? A friend is pretty much fed up with having his own Exchange server, doesn't make any use of the benefits having his own server provides and is paying a fair amount of money for the privilege. Plenty of options come up on Google but I'd rather hear from someone who has some experience.

We are about to start doing this, I work for an ISP
have spent quite a bit of time looking into all the various options that we can re-sell to small businesses & schools at very competetive rates

How about going down the small business route ? Ie rebuild the current exchange server to Windows small business sever (its got exchange built in) and then repopulate the data.

The only application on the server is Exchange and they don't even use that fully, why pay for more. Plus, the amount of time I and they spend maintaining the box just isn't worth it anymore.
Sonic' send me a PM with some details will you? And are you offering a trial?

Jack, how many mail accounts do they have???
and do they intend on increasing it soon.
if they already own exchange server, sbs will be an additional cost and still needs maintaining.
cheaper would be to pop their mail and use server based .pst files.
no colaboration with this option but cheap as hell.
ps: we are currently migrating from SBS2003 to Full on exchange, so going the other way!!!!
