Looking for a cheap laptop help please..
As the old boy turns 60 this month, i thought i'd splash out and get him a lappy to fiddle with. I want to spend between £300 and £400 ideally. All it has to have really is a decent screen (for 60 year old eyes ) and wireless connectvity. I've been told hat Toshiba and Fujitsu are good buys - true?
I've been looking around the Laptops direct website - are they good prices or can i do better

Dell are looking quite good. I've spec'd one up which comes in at £400. I shall visit the usual suspects this weekend. I've looked on the pc world site but i'm sure better deals are to be had in store

Been to Pc World and had a play on a few Laptops. At the moment i like this one.
I can get it with either XP or Vista. I'm very familiar with xp and can sort 99% of issues i come across so am leaning towards that. Is there anything to be gained from Vista for Lappy which is essentially gonna be an internet tool?
I'm gonna have to buy a wireless router thingy - any advice as they vary hugely in price
