Default Hard Drive issue - XP

Guys, I put a spare hdd in one of the office pc's, set to slave, for some extra storage. It's powering up and device manager is acknowledging that its there, but Its not showing up in 'my computer'.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Simon

Is it formatted ?

What size is the drive, and how old is the PC ?

It's a 300gig Maxtor, PC is about 12 months old. No conflicts as far as I can ascertain.

Whats the easiest way to format it?

Disk manager under "Administrative tools/ Computer management" in the Control panel. Select the physical disk and look at the options for formatting...
