after much cajoling from g/f, there's a new version now that will go up and down months and years

cursor up : year + 1
cursor down : year - 1
cursor left : month -1
cursor right : month + 1

 

you obviously have to single click on the calendar to get focus, so it understands the keys

 

Does it remind you of those all important anniversaries that she'd kill you for forgetting, first time we held hands while walking in the park etc
