Problem with installing Nero on XP

Problem with installing Nero on XP
Some time ago I had Nero 7 installed on my XP MC PC.
I uninstalled it using Windows uninstall and it was fine. I recently decided to buy it and when I try and intall it comes up with an error message "Please uninstall or update Nero".
I get this if I try to install a new version or the update version so I am stuck!
Any clues?

Put the disc back in and choose uninstall, follow the instructions untill you have uninstalled succesfully,
Then reinsert the disc and you should get a choice to install Nero.
