PC rebuilding?
hi
i have a 5 year old HP desktop that has been defunked for about 2 years and been sitting in a box ever since! im now considering having it rebuilt to use for some lightweight music sequencing etc.
Is it possible to rebuild PCs like this? and anyone have an idea of what kinda money id be looking at? i dont know much about computer workings etc.

Does dufunked mean broke or just outdated. If broke that you need to borrow some components and with a process of elimination find out what the problem is. Can take a while. But check the hard drive first - anything mechanical should be looked at before anything electrical. You need to check if its a standard case and motherboard design. Otherwise you'll be limited in what you can do with those components.
If it's just the operating system that's buggered there's nothing stopping you putting in a Linux disk and starting over though and see what happens.
