Dumb networking question - connecting to the Mac from Vista
Gonna shoot myself, because this is probably SO easy
Got my MacBook Pro & Vista seeing each other on my network (as good start!)
I want to "see" my Mac on Vista.
So I've gone into the network and found the MacBook Pro.
Clicked on it, and it's asking for a name and password....
which name and password is it?
Can somebody explain it in IDIOT-speak!!
Thanks,
Dan

Think its the mac keychain password.
Everytime I go onto the file server which is a windows box, my mac asks me to athenticate, its ben so long I'm not 100% sure without deleteing the auth link I can't be sure.

This is a problem, do a search as I asked this before, it has something to do with the Vista networking and there is a registry entry IIRC.
It is not a simple problem and the solution was not intuative at all.
There is a difference between how XP did networking and how Vista does it but I can not for the life of me remember what the phrase was...
The probelm also meant XP wouldn't talk to Vista so it wasn't a Mac only problem.

I've got a USB Hard drive connected to my Mac, which I want to "share" with Vista (pesky Publisher files that don't run on Mac!! )
Will keep trying though
