Unhappy Linux - Deleting a directory

I have accidentally created a directory called Traffic\ on my remote Fedora 6 system and try as I might I cannot delete it. I've tried deleting it through WSFTP and using the rmdir at the command prompt (via putty) but I just get an error saying directory Traffic (without the \) does not exist.

Can anyone tell me how to delete the directory or am I stuck with it?

Have you tried putting a double backslash in... ie "Traffic\\" ?

Dunno if that will work, but it's got to be worth a try.

John.

Not sure if Linux uses Inodes for it's files. But you can also find out it's inode number using an ls -li command. And rm the inode. That's if Linux uses inodes.
