copying .mov files. is quicktime PRO the only answer?
my digi camera takes vid clips but in the format which only plays on quicktime (i think i'm right in saying this is a .mov file?)
not a problem until i've tried to copy the clips, nero doesn't support the file (at least the version i have) and it doesn't play on windows media player so can't copy through that.
i downloaded a converter called RAD video tools to convert the file to mpeg but although this looked like it was working it maxed out my little memory on the computer (is this normal?) so couldn't fully convert it
idealy i want to edit the footage and burn it for backup, so is quicktime pro my only option?
any advice for a newbie movie maker would be much appreciated

cheers for that pimmo, got a feeling it might give me the same memory problems as the other converter i used though (states to have 20gb spare memory in the small print) will give it a go though
