ejecting the memory card - problem
my camera's memory card is read direct on the laptop via the digital media slot, when i want to un plug I right click the task bar icon to stop it and then i can safely remove it.
BUT i'm gettinga PROBLEM EJECTING XD2 (thats the card or if i use a SD card) DEVICE. The device 'Generic Volume' cannot be stopped right now. try stopping the device later.
why does it do this and how do i sort it out? As if i pull it out t make the lap top have to do a shut down when i close down. Or i hav to remove it when the aptop is tured off.
the problem has obly happened over the last week or so.
WHY?

i get this when the card "thinks" its still being accessed by the last program using it. in my case picasa, so I just shut that down then the card will (should) eject normally.

it does it even when everything is closed down and i try to eject it.
would it get sorted if I re booted?

If you reboot, just pull it out during the reboot, once windows shuts down and before it restarts. Its probably the lazy write not terminating.
