Default iMac digital output audio

I have just connected my Creative Inspire 5.1 Digital 5700 - The one with the decoder box and conntected the box to the mac with a digital cable (green ends 9 pin with a 3.5mm converter at the other end) and it does not work. I then tired it with the 3.5mm audio jack and it works.

So if apple say its a digital output, it clearly is not as my digital speakers don't with the digital cable only the normal audio jack.

Best make sure this is the right one yourself, but at £4.00 I'd chance it Buy.com - PureAV Digital Optical Cable with Mini Toslink Adapter - 6 ft - White - AV20001-06-WHT

That price is if you use Google Checkout.

Type Audio into Spotlight, top of the list should be Audio Midi Setup.
