Seriously though, it's Microsoft's flagship racing game, surely it's a fantastic opportunity to shift a load of expensive hardware at the same time? Or do they really expect enough people to stump up full price for both and then they'll offer a bundle later to stragglers who fall for the added value?
In other news, if anyone has a PS3 as well as a 360, try playing GTHD demo back to back with Forza 2 and you'll see which is the real daddy at least in terms of visuals and car handling model*
*Hint: It's not Forza.

What we really need is Forza 2 with GTHD graphics

Nah we can't work on MS 1st party products. Yet.
I've only played GTHD with the DFPro wheel, and only played Forza with a pad to date, so maybe not a fair comparison, but the cars in Forza especially the stiffly sprung race cars seem to suffer from that early 90's race game phenomena of feeling like they are floating 1mm above the track, and rotating around a central axis. The GTHD cars feel like they have weight to them, you can really make them dance with realistic inputs to the wheel and pedals.
As I say, I need to put more time into the full forza 2 with a wheel, and if I change my mind i will be the first to say so, but at the moment GTHD is a clear winner for me. I just hope they provide an equally compelling range of car clubs, online modes, oh and of course car damage.
All in all, next-gen (including hi-end PC) is a great place to be for racing / driving fans!

I didn;t get that feeling with Forza at all (and I'm only using a joypad). Guess it all depends on what you are used to
It'll be interesting to see what they do with GT5 when it finally appears (next year sometime?). Surely they can't get away with releasing another game in the series without any damage / wear & tear modeling...

Spanking The 'Ring at 60fps . . . now we're talking
Forza 2: One Nürburgring lap - Xboxyde
IMO you really need to be playing in-car view to fully appreciate the physics, rather than looking at a representation of the car on screen which is always going to look as if its rotating.

For me, nothing comes close to rFactor on the PC with its representation of the Ring. Running in DX9 mode it makes the 360 look steam powered and has a better representation of camber changes and gradients that the consoles seem to ignore. Fun for me at the moment is the Tourist Nordschliffe in a MK1 Escort RS or round Bathurst in a V8 Touring car or Kyalami in a 79 renault Turbo F1 car. Now they have released the Hawkeye and Evo 9 patch the game just gets better, so much so the PS3 or 360 have not been switched on this month i think. The STI in rFactor comes with the correct ratio of steering rack, not just some rough guesswork

That video has made up my mind about Forza2. Unrealistic handling to start, entering some of the corners at the speed shown on the video would result in catastrophe. Next off unrealistic input system, sorry but my car has more steering range than 200degrees. The DFP is a realistic choice of input device due to its superior 900degree range and will always give the PS2 or 3 machine a serious advantage over the 360

Agree about the DFPro though, great wheel.
Downloading now...
must admit, the DFP is the winner, and i have not even tried the microsoft wheel
i have driven the DFP on liveforspeed and tried it on restricted steering lock, i think its 270 degrees and its crap, reminds me of my old sega saturn steering wheel

Glad i'm not the only one who thinks this! I play all driving games from the cockpit view only and as soon as you get any kind of oversteer in Forza 1 or 2 it turns on a central axis. Its what lets both versions down and why GT 3 and 4 feel better better, when a car oversteers it feels/looks like its oversteering, not pivoting on a central axis like Forza.
Still think Forza is excellent fun but it wont be realistic until they stop the pivoting on a central axis.

Have to say, that Ring vid looks very pretty, but again, too pretty, where's the real life 'grittyness'?
Everything is too super shiney!!
I'm gonna try this RFactor too, all the modding you have to do has put me off a bit, although I've been modding my RBR quite a bit, getting all the up to date cars etc

Looks like a wheel price drop rather than a bundle for now . . .
As Forza Motorsport 2 heads to retailers on May 29, Microsoft has slightly reduced the price of the Wireless Racing Wheel to $129.99 (normally $149.99).
