Crossfire or SLi - cant decide which setup
The SLi setup from overclockers
Overclockers UK - Your Basket
or
the crossfire setup from overclockers
changes the motherboard to Gigabyte GA_965P_DQ6 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard
and the graphics card to
HIS ATI Radeon HD 2900 XT SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail
The crossfire setup is 50 pounds more.
Only to run Lord of the rings online on a Sony flat panel monitor.
Been changing my mind for the past week having read reviews on google and the The Test Bed results- comprehensive benchmark listing
which would perform better in high resolution?

Why get a sli / crossfire setup at all? A single 8800gtx should be able to handle that game very nicely on a flat fanbel monitor, and you avoid all the nasty pitfalls that the sli/crossfire setups bring.
(I used to have a sli setup, and wouldn't do it again)...

Am with Iain on this. The sheer horsepower of a Single 8800GTX (or ultra!) or a 2900XT means that there are little or no gains to be had in a SLI/Crossfire configuration. Unless you are going to be running at stupidly high resolutions across 2 panels.
