Question .net framework - do I need it??? V. Slow boot!!!

I've got .NET framework 1.0, 2.0, and 3.0 on my machine.

Boot up has become tediously slow ~ 3 and a bit minutes to get from Windows boot up screen to windows log in screen (Win XP SP2)

In 'event viewer applications' I noticed 3 errors relating to .NET runtime. I was planning on uninstalling the programmes & see what happens...

Do I need all 3 versions? - or will just the latest one do?

Any ideas?

Thanks

Mick

Default

Well you probably dont need 3.0 and 1.1 and 2.0 should co-exist quite happily, sounds more like a .net app has been added to your startup folder rather than just the .net runtimes as I cant see how they would make any difference to boot times. First time any .net app runs it takes longer than the first time.

Thumbs up

Thanks for replying Gary.

Turns out to be a BIOS thing preventing access to my SATA drive - I guess windows was trying access stuff on the drive which wasn't available Doh!

Anyway sorted now - cheers mate!
