Default AO-hell, XP service pack 2 problem

Information is a little sparce on this on but here goes...

My friend rang to say she's just put servive pack 2 of XP on her computer ( ) and that when she trys to go online using AOL she gets a message saying that the line is busy and the service can't be connected.

Beyond reinstalling AOL is there anything that can be done?

Yep, get her to change ISP, get rid of that god awful p1sspoor AOLOL client, and the she'll wonder why she never used a decent provider before.

But yeh reinstalling the client 'should' fix it.

zzzzzzzzzzzz nothing to do with aol more to do with the state of the pc i no doubt. If shes doing the software/modem route just stick the cd in and let it do itself a repair installation.

Of course it is to do with AOL. It was working fine. She puts SP2 on (you can't really go wrong installing that) and then, oh look AOL stops working. Because it changes so much crap in the network settings. It shouldn't be touching anything in there in the 1st place.

The AOL client is a pos end of. Anyone who thinks else, is a moron imo, no offence to you of course.
