I have Vista Premium on my home PC which is always on and its been great. Certainly a lot less issues than I had using XP when it first came out. All of my old hardware and software works prefectly, games run just fine. I won't be going back to XP thats for sure.
Personally I'd stick to reputable sellers for something like this, but then you pays your money . . .
Mine was a free upgrade from XP MCE, so it wasn't an issue.
