I dunno what voip firmware is, yes I've read the manuel it says go outside, I stood in the park like a **** with my phone out... that sounds weird.. anyway it wont find a signal ???

Other than that it seems to be a great phone... I'm someone who wont pay for a phone though, so my opinions are based on... its a phone... who ****ing cares... give me two more attempts to get this and I'll forget it

really interested in this phone - but Voda won't give me an upgrade price until 5/5/07

Not overly bothered about the lack of VOIP, although there are flashes out there to restore the settings

Any thoughts on price on upgrade?

with all gps the "time to first fix" can take ages. don't give up its only trying to find out where you are in the world. after first fix it will get a lock much quicker. it happens with all new gps

i stand corrected!!
he paid for7 day trial and gps connected straight away .
i was there and it was almost as soon as he paid, must have been pure coincidence.
he assumed you could only get it when subscribed!

Can you use the built in GPS receiver with something like Tomtom mobile, or does it have to be the proprietary Nokia program supplied with the phone ?

I'd assume it would work with another program... like the inbuil wireless and bluetooth

Does this phone have really short battery life? Looking at the Orange site it says standby is 1 day and talktime is 2 hrs? Pretty poor by todays standards.

My GPS connected in about 5 mins first time- although that was on the windowsill as I couldn't be bothered going outside.

The WLAN seems real flaky though, it keeps dropping connections, and have tried it with both of my wireless routers- so am kind of guessing its the phone.

see my GPS is ****, but my wireless is spot on ! connects when I walk in the door and stays connected until I leave !

Battery life is showing to be poor but they reckon it takes 4 cycles before its at its best

Not until TomTom officially support it, but you can use an external bluetooth GPS unit.
