Please help. Looking for a Dell D505 Latitude laptop Recovery & Driver Disc to fix my laptop. Stuck on the Windows XP logo screen (pale blue screen). Won't go any further, don't know why.

Before anyone says, this is my own laptop, with a genuine XP Pro OS and has no pirate software on it. I don't have any driver and recovery discs as I have lost them whilst moving house. I have the service tag number if that helps anyone.

I think with the right serial number, you should be able to get all your drivers and utils from the Dell website.

Even without the service tag you can download the drivers just based on the Dell model.

The driver disk contains the hardware diagnostics and the drivers which are available from the website as above. You could use the tools on the Ultimate Boot CD - Overview to check some of the hardware.

If it;s a software problem you just need an xp disk to get into recovery console.
