I've just tried to speak to MrsD over Skype and she can't hear me. I know she's got her speakers switched on because I could hear her music when she started itunes, so the problem would appear to be with at my end I've got an Acer Aspire laptop, with a built in microphone, running Windows XP. When I look into the hardware lists I can't find anything called 'microphone', nor does the volume control point me anywhere to find out whether I've accidentally muted it

Where do I look, and what do I check
