Does anyone know if Windows ftp can log it's activity to a text file?
I've searched and I cannot find ANYTHING.

Thanks HHxx, I looked in system32\LogFiles but there is no activitiy for the FTP.
It's W2K3 SP1 if that matters. I've tried the usual pipe command (>c:\log.log) to extract the log during transfers but it's an invalid command.
I know a full FTP client will do what I want but I wanted to stick with Windows FTP if possible.

Thanks, I'll have a read.
Basically I wrote a very simple script to FTP a certain number of files from one server farm to another every hour. It's been working fine for 8/9 months and then for some reason today it sent about 1000% more files than usual! I only found out when our UNIX team called, I was a bit surprised, and they were a bit unhappy!
I wanted to enable some sort of logging (be it a simple txt file in the C:\ drive, event log entries etc.) so in future I can check the quantity of files sent etc. and to have a bit of a fault finding trail should something go wrong.

it sounds like you talking about an FTP send/put command (effectively an FTP client)
Have a look here
