Applecare not covering batteries?

Is it true that the applecare extended support etc does not cover faulty batteries in macbooks ??

Does in the USA, but been told not in UK

It's a bit

as we have had quite a few battery failures on them..

is it macbook or macbook pro, because apple uk will cover the macbook pro models I believe

Yup it's a macbook pro so must be covered I guess..
