Default More home networking

Got two computers behind a Netgear router. Want to transfer files across from my laptop (wireless) to desktop PC.

I cant ping the computers, but they both have IPs assigned by the router.

Whats the best way to transfer these files across ??

I noticed that the wireless laptop is domain based whereas the desktop is assigned to a workgroup. I dont want to change the laptop to workgroup as its my works one.

Any thoughts ?

I believe for them to communicate they have to be on the same domain or within the same workgroup. Not sure how you'd get around that. I do stand corrected though.

No, no your right... I think, just go through the network connection wizard on the desktop and set it to the same work group

You can also have problems with the OS, if one is running XP Home and the other XP Pro, you wont be able to network files between the 2.

They have put some restrictions on the Home edition
