Question IP Thermometer

Guys,

At work I've got a server room that is potentially being kept too warm due to inadequate air con unit. As it's at a remote site I was wondering whether anybody would be able to recommend an IP Thermometer that can be monitored remotely?

Cheers

Andy

You can get a remotely managed unit with a CCTV camera embedded and I don't think it's that much, can't remember what the brand was though.

Added:
It's Netbotz, we've been thinking about these for our datacenters.

NetBotz - Remote Environmental Monitoring, Early Detection, Instant Alerting, Temperature Sensors, Humidity Sensors, Fluid Detectors, Chemical Sensors, IT Physical Security, Unified Security, Critical Infrastructure Protection.

we have an interseptor for monitoring.

I would check that your A/C unit doesnt have this function first, some can output via SNMP or a BMS System

Have you got an APC UPS?

A lot of Smart-UPS models have an expansion slot which can take a 10/100 module, one version of which includes a temperature probe.

I want one of these

A (slightly) cheaper option would be something like an Oregon Scientific WMR928 connected via serial with the wx200d daemon software, but you'll have to hand roll it and the sensor would need to be mains powered instead of battery (easy conversion). Convenience and better reliability is worth the extra on top though in my opinion.
