Been using vista back up software and (unless its me) it just seems to create MASSIVE files over time.

i want a simple option that will copy files in my docs to an external HD and keep maybe 3 old copies before wiping them.

also - i switch HD once a week (i rotate 3) so dont want that to confuse the software (vista gets very confused that the HD is a new one each time)

any options?

cheap options, Windows backup (as you've been using) or even scripts.

for home use the above is rated very highly, ghost is another option, but the home version I dont think is as good as acronis.

For backing up entire machines, corporate version of ghost is king
