Acer Laptop - Help me connect to my wireless network
Right, bought a laptop today for my wife an Acer Aspire 5610z. Set it up ok but now I am trying to connect it to my Linksys ADSL Wireless Router and it won't find it.....!
Its got Vista an when I try to connect to a network it shows everyone elses on my street (and connects to one unsecured one) but won't show mine.
My network is secured with WEP 128 and even when I try and make a manual connection - putting in the SSID, WEP password nothin happens. It accepts it but then still won't show the network so I can select and connect to it.
Its fine with a wired connection but the wireless just won't show my network.
Driving me mad - any ideas.

I had a couple of problems setting up a Loox pda with a Linksys router last week. Even though I put in the key etc. it wouldn't connect. Only when I turned off the routers security did it see and connect to it. Then I reset the security on both router and pda and everything's good. Can't explain it but it might work...

I'm running it without any security at all and it still won't find it. It still finds everyone elses!
Gonna try and find some drivers and see if that helps!

if it is...make sure that the router has ssid enabled, this may be the reason your wireless isn't showing up on the wireless network connections.
if it is, then add the ssid manualy, if no joy i can run some tests with you by phone
