Default High Definition file

So, if i have downloaded a file, say for instance a 6 nations game, encoded in HD format, if i were to watch it on my laptop, which is not HD, then i would gain nothing, but if i were to hook up my laptop to my HD 32" LG lcd, would it then be viewed in HD format???

of you had the right cable from your laptop to your tv it would !!

What screen resolution are you running your laptop in? Most modern laptop displays are higher resolution than basic 720p HD for example, so if it's a 720p file the chances are that you already are watching it in HD
