WMP 11/Vista - MP3 ripping
I'm using Vista with Windows Media Player 11 and when I ripped a CD, the quality was off.
Is this normal or is it likely to be some kind of copy protection on the CD (there's nothing on the sleeve about copy protection)?
I heard there are some kind of protection features in Vista, but I thought it only applied to playing HD content.
It's my own CD.
Thanks.

WMP11 has nothing to do with vista. It's an addon program that works with both XP and Vista, so I'd expect the visuals to be the same. Personally I turn them off because I find them annoying

It's not caused by the bit rate; that's 256kbps.
Just to clarify, it's like there's some intermittent electronic interference and spiking. It's minimal, but it's clearly there and annoying...
I think it's down to the CD.
