DVD writer recommendation?
Hi,
Finally going to sort out a DVD writer. Currently have a CD writer that creates a fair amount of coasters above 4x speed ... So takes about 12 mins to write an audio CD .... !!
I need to be able to do the above (audio CD writing) as well as DVD writing and it should also come with the SW. I have Nero at the moment and that seems OK by me but it is the version that came with my drive. oh, and black must be an option .....
Ta in advance.
Dave

I don't think theres that much in between manufacturers these days. I've been using an LG GSA-4167B - it's a DVD-RAM so it can support all the different disc types and can write at up to x16 on the right discs and its been great, hasn't put a foot wrong.

Pioneer or NEC - both have hackable/updatable firmware allowing full speeds on new blank media as it is released. Sony/Toshiba are a bit crap when it comes to things like that.
