Sony Says No To Force Feedback Steering Wheels
Sony Computer Entertainment America confirmed that there would be no supported force feedback technology with its PlayStation 3. They told 1UP the following:
All PS3 games are programmed for the SIXAXIS which doesn't have force feedback, therefore the force feedback in the wheels won't be recognized.

GT without a forcefeedback steering wheel just won't be the same IMO. Just pay Immersion their money FFS!!!

Got the wireless wheel for the 360 for Christmas and its great Still struggling to get to grips with it in most games but its excellent for PGR3. Impossible to use for NFS:Carbon though

I attach it to the living room table and sit on the sofa My usual gaming position is on a beanbag in from of the TV, but its hard to use the pedals when sitting on a beanbag
I'm sure it would be fine on your lap because of the way its shaped.

Thats the only thing that would concern me with it on your lap. If there was something to grip with your thighs (oo-er) it would help. It just feels right connected to a desk.

What racing seat do you have? It's rather sad I know, but you can't really use the wheel and pedals properly unless you have a decent seat. Coffee table + sofa = bad back. I need a separate games room.

I've not used the DF pro mate, so can't really compare. It feels extremely well built and the feedback is nice and strong. It came with a FF version of PGR3 which is great, you feel every rumble strip and the steering goes dead when you get air. The paddle shift is nice to use rather than grabbing for a gearshift too.

Cheers Dunk, will have to look about for prices on them then. Cottonfoo not sure which seat i've got, bought it almost brand new with df pro off of ebay for just under £200 including postage. Think the seat on its own new was £350. Its basically a racing bucket seat on rails with a frame for the pedals and steering wheel. Will have a look to see what it is and post back later.
