Default Root folder ?? formatting memory card ??

Anyone offer any advice on the following ?? trying to put TOMTOM software that I currantly have on disc onto a new memory card I have here, couple off things that I am not 100% sure about.

Instruction one tells me to put both maps on the root folder off the storage card.

instruction two then tells me to copy the TOMTOM 5.21 folder into the root off the storage card.

is the root folder and the root off the storage card the same thing ?? if not can someone please explain what the difference is and exactly what I need to look for ??

lastly the new memory card that I have here can it be formatted by the pc / card reader or will it have to be done actually in my PDA / phone ( spv m2000 )

if the pda anyone any idea how I go about formatting the card in this particular PDA, not 100% sure ??

any advice really appreciatted guys.

cheers,
john

if you pop the card into a reader, and select properties, you should be able to format the card from there

my neighbour had tt and if i recall its a pita to setup using there instructions

I have it on my pda, only 3 folders if i recall,

if i can get access to it today i will have a look to confirm

Insert the card, and go to my computer. View the card (Double click), and what you're looking at there is the root folder. In other words, the first folder you get to.
