Orange SPV-M3100 thoughts please
My N70 is due for an upgrade soon and i'm thinking about the SPV-M3100, but i'm having difficulty gettings peoples views on it.
I tried viewing it in the Orange shop, but they never had one available without breaking into a new sealed unit.
Anyone got one and how do they rate it? Judging by what i HAVE seen so far, it looks like a similar layout to the N70. This true?
Just to add, as an existing Orange customer for circa 5 years, a NEW customer will get a better deal on the M3100, than me. £35 a month(18 month contract) and it costs them £49.99 for the handset. Myself=£35 a month(again 18 month contract), yet it costs me £149.99 for the handset!!!

I'm an existing customer of orange. And have been for a similar time, and spend a similar amount as you. I could have the SPV for £50 back in August!
Apparently they have 5 price brackets, Number 1 getting the worst deals, and number 5 getting most for free, and I was in number 4.
I didn't even have to go for a 12 month contract if I carried on my existing tariff.
Since I already have a previous SPV I went for the S/Ericsson w810i as the walkman is awesome!
Best thing about the SPV is, add one "cough"dodgy"cough" copy of tom tom, and a bluetooth GPS unit and you have yourself sat nav for around £40

This is great in the UK although their roaming charges kill me! But the business pays for that

I've got the M600. Wanted the 3100 but felt it was too big for me. Plus don't need keyboard - link it to PC for messaging and typing can get cheap fold away bluetooth keyboard.
Phone isn't too bad - I swear they get better as you use them. Either that or you get used to them not being great phones.
I was existing Orange and they wanted me to pay 30-40 for it. I said I'd stay with them if they waived the costs of the phone and they agreed. Also got wireless broadband with it so can use the m600 to access the internet. Can use it to download Emails but prefer using my PSP for mobile internet access.

I've flashed my 3100 with the latest AKU 3.3 Tytn rom, works much better now.
It now works on my Nokia car kit, the phone signal is stronger, the opsys runs faster and the battery now lasts for about 2 days.
It's a good phone, but for the weekend I get my V6 Motorola out and put the 3100 away till Monday morning.
Essential apps imo are SPB Diary and SPB Pocket Plus.
