I have 7 days of full on gaming ahead of me as ive taken a week off work

Today i will be buying a new game but i have 3 games in mind and dont know which is best?

1. Call of duty 3
2. Gears of war
3. Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six: Vegas

Any suggestions on the above please?

 

Gear's of war by far. Call of duty 3 is nothing new. Rainbow 6 is a bit short on the single player. Gears of war is at the cutting edge of gaming today If you have xbox live the coop single player is fantastic. IMO

 

Just been reading another post about this game, apparently il have it completed before tuesday lol

 

No advance in gameplay over COD2, (could be a mission pack), but it does look prettier. Quite entertaining although quite linear

Utter rubbish. Just eye-candy, that's all. If this is where next-gen gaming is going, they can keep it.

Playing through this at the moment. Quite entertaining. It's gone a lot more arcadey (dumbed down) from the old R6 games, but it's enjoyable nonetheless. At least with this one, there is more than one route through the level and you actually have to think a bit instead of just mindlessly shooting...

 

If you really want something that will last try Oblivion

 

I'll throw Viva Pinata into the mix as well. Horribly addictive and something different to the multitude of shooters.

Iain, you've really put me off buying GoW now. We seem to have the same taste in games so I think I'll wait for it to come down in price or when Dj Dunk spots a Play bargain

 

Been playing that for weeks now Also got Saints Row recently

 

Call of Duty 3 - If you've played one level you've played them all - I've got bored with it and gone back to try and finish of Dark Agent on PDZ...Also, I've never managed to get into a ranked online game yet.

Gears Of War - Initial impressions are that's its the best game ever, this soon wears off then you realise "hmm? was that it?" - online stinks.

R6V - havent played this but wished I'd bought it instead of the other 2 - loved GRAW and this is basically more of the same - although I've heard reports that the graphics arent as good.

Test Drive - OK but not much of a challenge. Out of 120 races / challenges, the number I had to do more than once to finish I could count on my fingers, and only the Tantalus event gave me any real headaches. Some good tracks on the radio stations though.

Oblivion - one of those games I've yet to try, but bought myself it for Xmas - Wife doesnt know I've bought it so I'm gonna pass it off as a pressie

 

Test drive rocks. Nearly finished it now though (but it's taken ages).

I wouldn't say the R6V graphics are any worse than GRAW. Certainly no better, but not worse either. As you say, it's a very similar game to graw...

A word of warning about Ovlivion. It's flippin addictive. I spent over 90 hours on that game

 

Well just got back with Gears of war, had a quick 15 minute play, doesn't seem anything special to me lol, maybe il get into it after a few days!

 

how about FEAR?

Good lad And yes you could, but if you went out and bought another 4 xbox 360's and 4 TV's she'd REALLY get the hump

 

I only got the telly 2 weeks before that little lot...

forgot to mention King Kong too - but that was only £15 pre-owned, so in about 2 weeks time I'll be trying to do about 20+ game simultaneously...
