Default Source for cheap Canon printer spares???

My i9950 (A3 inkjet printer) appears to have a kaput print-head.... it's constantly flashing 5 amber lights, and the head itself doesn't look too great!

So - I need a new printhead...

...but the best I can find is about £100 - which seems crazy for a bit of plastic and a few bits of metal!

So - has anyone got any idea where I might be able to source one cheaper? Nothing on eBay, I've tried!

Canon part no. is QY6-0055-000 if anyone's interested... and any help would be very much appreciated, not least by my wallet!

Thanks

Shades

Shades - how urgent is this mate?

I'm the credit manager for a company called Supplies Team based in Bradford. We're quite a big outfit with links to all major brands (company t/o exceeds £230m)

Unfortunately I have no product knowledge and I'm off work until Monday. I'd be happy to see if we could supply this product at a competitive price. If you need it a bit quicker I'll give you the contact number and a specific name to ring and I'm sure they would be able to offer some advice.

Our web site: Office Supplies, Stationery, Ink Cartridge - Supplies Team

A few products may not be on there if they are not big sellers.............

PM me if you need any info...............

Thanks Rob - I'm currently pursuing a few emails around Canon, of the "This shouldn't be necessary on a 15mth old printer with light use" variety.... though don't expect to get anywhere!

I've now also dug out an option to buy a head for quite a bit less - comes in at about £65 delivered - but would still be v. interested to see what, if anything, you can do to help?

I still maintain that £65 for the bit of plastic that is the print-head is a bucket load of money! Still, I guess better the fact that you CAN replace it rather than head failure meaning a £400 printer is scrap...

Cheers

If you need something printed - Email it to me and I'll print it for you - then FTP it back to you, or something....
