Default motherboard suggestions

i have just bought an athlon 64 5200+ x2 dual core cpu and 2 gig of corsair PC2-6400 XMS2. but im unsure which mainboard to use ?? i have been thinking of asus but does anyone have any better ideas ???

I don't have any specifics, But I use abit and Asus a lot - never let me down.

Having said that, I don't know what you're planning to do. I've never even touched over-clocking for example.

any of the current Asus SLi boards get a great write up and I think 80% of the folks on here use them

Personally I have only ever used Gigabyte boards, and this is over the past 10 years at least. Never had a problem, boards are well labelled which makes fiddly jobs like connected case wires for speaker, hdd light, reset switch very easy.
