where to get Autocad LT cheap ?
We don't need the latest and greatest version, which is £869.99 to buy new.
We could happily put up with an older version (so long as its not too old)
Anybody know where we can buy a new or "as new" copy of Autocad (providing serial number is unregistered) on the web ?
We also need something to convert Autocad drawings into Acrobat (pdf) format. I see Acrobat Pro v8 is around £400. Is there any other packages that can do the same job ?
Basically we have to keep spending to a minimum so any shortcuts would be great. Not interested in non-legit stuff. Must be legal.

Can't really help with the Autocad - as when I was a poor student I used bootleg copies that my CADCAM lecturer "accidentally" left on the desk
Basically in any software you print the page as if you are printing to a printer, but it output to a pdf file instead. It comes bundled with Acrobat pro (I have v6 which does this ), not sure if it can be got hold seprately or bundled in a lesser/cheaper package, but there are lots of third party or shareware programs that do this, PDFfactory is one that springs to mind.

oh really ? I thought Acrobat file format may be patented by Adobe. Didn't think anyone else could do that. Great stuff, so there's lots of programs that will convert the Autocad drawing to pdf ? I'll check em' out.

I use Bentley View (it's free) to open and print AutoCad drawings:
Bentley | Bentley View
It automatically uses the windows default printer, so if you have an application to 'print' PDF files, select this as the default printer and it 'should' work (only tried it with standard printers myself).

Be aware some of the other non Acrobat programme may not give 100% compatability and you may not get the full functionality such as being able t rotate and imbed video into a pdf
